Day 1  Arrival in Hatay / Transfer to Antioch / Biblical Tour Turkey Begins

Once you land in Hatay, you will be greeted by our crew and transported to your hotel in Antioch for check-in. After you have settled in, our guide will meet you in person to deliver your envelope with your official itinerary, vouchers and tickets over a cup of Turkish coffee or tea while you are briefed shortly about your tour. The rest of the day will be yours to chill out before your overnight stay in Antioch as the beginning of our Biblical Tour Turkey.

Day 2 Antioch Tour, Visit Church of St. Peter, Mosaic Museum & Titus Tunnel

You will be picked up by our guide early in the morning, for the first part of Biblical Tour Turkey in the mythical Antioch. Due to its unique situation bordering both Mediterranean Sea and Middle East, Antioch has always been defined as the cradle of civilizations. Founded in 4th Century BC by one of Alexander the Great’s generals, it bears the mark of many nations from throughout history, as will be shown in your extensive narrative throughout the city. Afterwards, we will move to the Church of St. Peter, believed to be one of the first churches of Christianity. Later on, we will take a thorough trip to the Mosaic Museum, exhibiting countless well-preserved pieces explaining the history and culture of the region. Our final stop will be the Titus Tunnel in Seleucia Pieria, where many stories and myths regarding early Christian-Roman relations will be solved. After the ending of the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Adana for an overnight stay.

Day 3 Adana and Tarsus Tour / Transfer to Cappadocia

Once you are picked up by our guide, your epic trip of the day will begin with one of the most historically-rich cities of Turkey. Adana as a long-standing province, has seen the rise and fall of many empires and states; including Urartian, Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman. Although it is home to many sites, settlements and artifacts to show for it, our main focus will be particularly epic biblical locations such as St. Paul’s house and Church. After our excursion here, we will head to Tarsus province of Mersin – where we will visit a multitude of spots from Roman, Persian, Greek and even pre-historic periods like Cleopatra’s Gate, Roman Road and Ancient Trail before our evening arrival in Cappadocia. Then, you will be transferred to your authentic cave hotel for an overnight stay. After check-in to the authentic cave hotel, you may have a couple of hours of free time to visit the town center for an amazing dinner. Bear in mind that the next day’s departure for the hot air-balloon trip will be quite early, so you will need as much sleep as you can get!

Day 4  Hot Air-Balloon Ride / Cappadocia Tour

Very early morning pick-up from the hotel around the time of sunrise, transfer to the take-off site for the hot air-balloon tour, transfer back to the hotel for breakfast. Afterwards, pick-up from the hotel for the full-day CappadociaTour where we will go through biblical destinations such as Goreme Open-Air Museum, Pasabag, Avanos, Uchisar Cave Houses and Goreme Panorama. Upon the ending of the tour, you will be transferred to your authentic cave hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5  Transfer to Egirdir via Konya & Pisidian Antioch Tour

Early in the morning, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in order to hit the road towards Egirdir. On the way towards noon, you will arrive in Konya and stop for a short break where you can have lunch and briefly discover the adopted home of Rumi – which also happens to be on the legendary trading route of ancient times: The Silk Road. Later on, you will move on to Pisidian Antiochwhere you will be narrated through a marvellous ancient settlement that bears numerous reminders from Seleucid, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods like the theatre, central church, Tiberia Platea, Propylon, Nympheum and Grand Basilica among others. We will arrive in Egirdir in the evening and you will be transferred to your hotel near the beautiful Lake Egirdir for an overnight stay.

Day 6 Collosae & Laodicea Tour / Pamukkale & Hierapolis Tour

After breakfast, we will get going towards Collosae, the home city of Epaphras who is believed to have served time in prison with Saint Paul, which is known through his letter addressed to the city. Later on, we will move to Laodicea, one of the seven churches mentioned by Saint John. Finally, we will arrive at our final destination Pamukkale to visit the marvellous travertines along with Hierapolis Ancient City and tomb & church of Saint Philip where he was martyred. After check-in to your hotel, you will stay overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 7  Ephesus Ancient City Tour / Transfer to Izmir

Early in the morning you will get picked-up from the hotel in Pamukkale and  transferred to Ephesus for the full-day Ephesus Ancient City tour with epic inclusions like Temple of Hadrian, inner parts of Ephesus Ancient City, Celsus Library with its mythically emblazoned exterior, House of Virgin Mary as a place of pilgrimage and Saint John’s Basilica – a homage to the saint by an Eastern Roman emperor. We will also visit the House of Virgin Mary, which is believed to be the place of her stay after she escaped from Jerusalem with Saint John. Upon ending of the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in the Aegean city of Izmir for an overnight stay.

Day 8  Smyrna, Sardes, Philadelphia & Thyatira Tour

After our guide picks you up from your hotel in Izmir, we will begin our history-filled adventure of Biblical Tour Turkey with Smyrna; home of Polycarp who was disciple of Saint John martyred by Romans. Upon our visit to Kadife Castle where he was martyred, we will move onto Agora of the Ancient City and Sardes – capital of the ancient Lydian Kingdom which was directly addressed to, by Saint John himself. Heading east, we will arrive at Philadelphia, another one of the highly-esteemed seven churches along with Saint John’s Church. Our final destination of the day will be yet another one of the seven churches; Thyatira, before our arrival at the hotel in the lovely Aegean resort town of Kusadasi for today’s overnight stay. After your return to Kusadasi on this day, we would highly recommend you to have dinner at one of the seaside restaurants for a great way to end the day – accompanied by the view of Greek Islands in the lovely evening scenery.

Day 9  Pergamon & Assos Tour / Alexandria of Troas & Troy Tour

Following an early morning pick-up, we will continue our Biblical Tour Turkey in Pergamon – described as “seat of the devil” due to the presence of world-renown Altar of Zeus. After our visit to the altar, we will be guided through a multitude of other temples including Trajan’s among other remains of the city. Once we climb to the Asclepion for a visit followed by the Red Church, we will drive to Assos which is the ancient settlement from where Saint Paul sailed to Lesbos Islands. A brief but informative excursion will be made to Alexandria of Troas, which is yet to be fully unearthed. Our last stop will be Troy; the legendary city which was the scene of the most epic battle in human history as told by Homer. Later on, we will drive to Canakkale downtown for an overnight stay.

Day 10  Nicea & Hagia Sophia Tour / Transfer to Istanbul

You will be picked up from your hotel by our guide early in the morning, and transferred to the tour site in order to visit Nicea – which was the meeting place for the first and second ever Ecumenical councils. After an extensive tour of Nice and the nearby Hagia Sophia Church (i.e not the one in Istanbul), we will take a 4,5-hour drive to Istanbul to get checked into the hotel for your overnight stay. Since your hotel will be in the Old City area, it would be a great idea to walk around for a little bit and have an authentic Turkish meal at one of the restaurants in the vicinity.

Day 11  Istanbul Old City Walking Tour

Pick-up from the hotel in Istanbul in the morning by our professional English-speaking guide for the full-day Old City tour. Starting with themagnificent Hagia Sophia museum, the excursion will take you around breathtaking destinations such as the Blue Mosque, Hippodrome of Constantinople, Obelisk of Theodosius, Topkapi Palace, Serpentine Column, German Fountain, Grand Bazaar and more. Once your daily epic journey comes to an end, our guide will accompany you to your hotel. The rest of the evening will be yours to treat yourself to an authentic Turkish dinner and a good night’s sleep to build up energy for your early morning departure in the following day.

Day 12  Istanbul City Walls, Chora Church & Bosphorus Cruise

Morning pick-up from the hotel by our guide, will be followed by a trip to the Istanbul City Walls which were originally built by the Eastern Roman Empire and later fortified by the Ottoman Empire. Afterwards, we will move onto Chora Church; one of the finest examples of Roman churches adorned with unique frescoes and known for its architectural aesthetics. Finally, we will arrive in Eminonu district to catch our boat for the afternoon cruise on the Bosphorus, for a guided experience through the historical sites alongside it. Upon ending of the tour, you will be transferred to your hotel in Istanbul for your final overnight stay in Turkey.

Day 13  Free Time in Istanbul / Transfer to Airport and End of Services

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have some free time to finalize your shopping or say farewell to Istanbul by going out for a cup of coffee with the view of Bosphorus, depending on your flight schedule. At a pre-set time according to your departure flight, our crew will transfer you to the airport – which concludes our services in Biblical Turkey Tour.
